2011 Upasika Days


Over the course of the year, topics cover the five themes of sutta study, daily lifepractice, meditation, devotion/ritual, and Dhamma in the broader world. A list of suggested readings is also provided for those wishing to delve more deeply into each topic.

Typical Upasika Day Schedule
1 p.m.  - Chanting, Refuges and Precepts
1:30 p.m. - Teaching on monastic ritual or etiquette
2 p.m. - Meditation
3 p.m. - Teachings on topic & discussion
4:50 p.m. - Closing chant, announcements
5:00 p.m. - End of day


Sunday, April 17

Devotion and Ritual: Elements of Puja. We will explore the meaning, value, objects and mechanics of the shrine room, making offerings and requests, and gestures of respect.
